ST PETERS IVER FC

MINUTES OF CLUB MEETING – WEDNESDAY 20/06/07

Below are the minutes of the meeting:

Action

·         Facilities for Next Season

The club has applied to RPSC for pitches for the 2007/08 season – 1 mini soccer pitch (U8/U10) and 1 full pitch (U12/U14/U16), with occasional use of a 2nd pitch, as well as spaces around.

A decision is due at the end of June, but it is expected to be approved.

·         Managers/Helpers for next season

U6 – Nick Jones, Mick Holden, Patrick Morrisey (may be moving away). Will recruit additional help from parents staying if required.

U8/10 – John Plaskett, Martin Meacock, David Hunt, David Sutton, John Ashton, Paul Monk (probably). Specific allocations to be made when final numbers known

U12 – Paul Simmonds, Alan Dardis, Paul Ensby

U14 – Matthew Lopacki, Anup Shivakar

U16 – Mark James, Simon Edwards, Bob Abbott

Overall a much stronger position than last year.

·         Teams

After discussion it was agreed to enter an U8 team for next season. As this is an introductory season for the children (and a non-competitive league), the philosophy will be that any child who wants to play will be able to. The possibility of utilising 3 rotating squads was discussed.

League teams will be entered at U10/12/14/16 level.

It was also agreed to start an adult’s team for next season. They will play home games at Evreham. The club will provide £500 for the first season, but the team must be self-funding after this. It is expected that £1,000/annum will be required to cover pitch & referee fees. Team manager Simon Edwards.

·         Training Facilities

There is the usual pressure on space for next season, due to numbers and our inability to train on the main pitches.

There was some discussion about use of other sites, but overall it was felt that this would split the club & it was preferable to try & stay on 1 site.

As contingency, initial enquiries will be made with Mr Collis at the junior school, for possible use of the field.

For U12 upwards, training space will vary week by week and will be dependant upon other matches being played. Managers may have to be prepared to be flexible in respect of space & timings.

Consider staggered starts to training sessions e.g. 9am or 11 am.
